The correct dialing procedure is: (country code) (area code) (phone number).

For example, the phone number in North America is 778 239-1586, of which, 778 is the area code and 239-1586 is the phone number. The country code for USA and Canada is 1. Therefore, the correct dialing is 17782391586.

Take Chinese city Guangzhou for another example. The local number is 8266588, the area code 010 and the country code 86. The correct dialing is 86108266588. Please notice that the first 0 of 010 must be deleted while dialing.

Local calls should also follow the principle that the country and area codes be added while dialing. For instance, the correct dialing is 1604xxxxxxx if the call is made from Vancouver to a Vancouver local number.
